I Mary Bottle [2346] Wife of Alexander Bottle [2105] of Harrietsham
in the County of Kent Miller being sick and weak ~
in Body but of sound and disposing mind and memory
( praised be God ) do this second day of January one thous=
and seven hundred and sixty one make this my last Will
and Testament in the Words and manner following ~~
FIRST and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands
of Almighty God and my Body I commit to the Earth to ~
be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executrix herein
after named and as to such wordly Estate as it hath pleased
God to bless me with. I give and Dispose of the same as ~
follows. Whereas by Indentures of Lease and Release ~
bearing date respectively the Twenty fifth and Twenty
Sixth days of September which was in the Year of our ~
Lord one Thousand seven Hundred & forty four the
Release being of three parts and made or mentioned
to be made between my said Husband by the name and
addition of Alexander Bottle [2105] of Harrietsham in the ~
County of Kent Miller, Nephew of Nicholas Adams ~
then (?) late of Harrietsham aforesaid Yeoman deceased
and devised named in the last Will and Testament of
the said Nicholas Adams of the first part and the said
Mary Bottle [2346] by the name and addition of Mary Hog=
bin [2346] of Marden in the said County of Kent Spinster ~
one of the Daughters of William Hogbin the Elder ~
then late of East Sutton in the said County of Kent ~
Yeoman deceased and Devised named in the last Will
and Testament of the said William Hogbin of the ~
second part Ferdinando Bottle [2787] of Harrietsham afore=
said Carpenter and Edward Weldish of Harrietsham
aforesaid Butcher of the third part purporting ~
to be my Marriage Settlement by which said Inden=
ture of Release and power is reserved and vested in me
notwithstanding my Covertue of disposing by my ~
last Will and Testament or by any other Deed or In
strument in Writing by me lawfully executed of
all that one undivided or full half-part, the whole
into two equal parts to be divided/ of all that Messu
age or Tenement Barn Stable Garden Orchard ....
and Eight Severall pieces or parcells of Land con=
taining Eighteen Acres to the said Messuage or ~
Tenenent belonging or appertaining and therein more
particularly mentioned and described formerly in the ~
Tenure or Occupation of William Bourne and situate ~
lying and being in Ulcomb in the said County of Kent ~
Subject to the Estate for Life of the said Alexander Bottle [2105] and
by the same Indenture of Release there is a power re=
served to me of disposing of one Hundred and fifty pounds
to be raised and paid to me or to whom I shall direct by
the said Ferdinando Bottle [2787] and Edward Weldish out of ~
certain other Lands Tenements and Hereditaments ~
mentioned and comprised in the value Indenture on ~
the death of the said Alexander Bottle [2105] Now in pursuance
of the power so vested in me as aforesaid I do hereby give
devise and bequeath all that the aforesaid Moiety or ~
half part of the said Messuage or Tenement Lands and
premises in Ulcomb aforesaid after the decease of my ~
Husband the said Alexander Bottle [2105] unto my Hiere ~
Elizabeth Bottle [2336] wife of Alexander Bottle [2103] the Younger
for her Life And from and after her Decease then I do give
the same unto my Grandson Robert Bottle [2792] Eldest Son
of the said Elizabeth Bottle [2336] TO HOLD unto him his ~
Heirs and Assigns for ever. And I do direct that my ~~
Trustees the said Ferdinando Bottle [2787] and Edward Weldish
or the Survivor of them or the Executors or Administra=
tors of such Survivor do within Twelve Months next ~
after the decease of my Husband the said Alexander ~
Bottle [2105] by Sale or demise of all or any part of the Lands ~
Tenements or Hereditaments mentioned and Subjected
in and by the said Indenture of Release to the payment
of the same levy and raise the Sum of one Hundred and
fifty pounds and pay the same as follows that is to say the
sum of one Hundred pounds unto my Hiere the said ~
Elizabeth Bottle [2336] unto her own Hands for her proper use to
dispose of as she shall think proper which I do hereby give
to her being part of the said one Hundred and fifty pounds
and five pounds apiece unto my Sister Joyce Weldish ~
her three Sons William Edward and Hogbin and her ~
daughter Joyce Weldish and Twenty pounds unto my
niece Mary Dives of Harrietsham and five pounds unto
my Daughter in Law Mercy Muddell [2752] of Lenham which
I do hereby Give to them respectively and which makes
up the Remainder of the said ome Hundred and fifty pounds
I do Give unto my Grandson Robert Bottle [2792] my Silver
Tumbler unto my Grandson William Bottle [2793] my two
Silver Salts and unto my Grandson Benjamin Bottle [2312]
two large Silver Spoons and I do hereby nominate and
Appoint my said niece Elizabeth Bottle [2336] full and Sole
Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby
revoking all former Wills by me at any time here=
tofore made and declaring this to be my only last ~
Will and Testament IN WITNESS whereof I have
to this my last Will and Testament contained in ~
two Sheets of paper set my Hand at the bottom of the ~
first Sheet and my Hand and Seal to this last Sheet ~
thereof the day and year first above written Mary ~

by the Testator Mary Bottle [2346] as and for her last Will
and Testament in the presence of us who at her request
and in her presence have set our names as Witnesses

THE Before registered Will of Mary Bottle [2346] deceas=
ed was proved the fifth day of March 1761 before the ~
Reverend William Gosthing (?) Clerk Surrogate to the ~
worshipful Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws Official Gene=
ral to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury law=
fully constituted by the Oath of Elizabeth Bottle [2336] Wife
of Alexander Bottle [2103] / Sole Executrix named in the said ~
Will being first sworn duly to perform the same...
