4. Coat of Arms of Sir Robert BOTYL (various spellings). He was Prior of the Order of St.John of Jerusalem ("Knights Hospitallers") in England 1441-c1466. They provided assistance to pilgrims and Crusaders en route to and from the Holy Land from about 1100 onwards. There is no evidence yet of any family connection to him and the Order was celibate.
